Welcome Game: Zach welcomed everyone to our
first STAGE meeting of the year with an exciting snow ball
fight
name. Everyone wrote a little about them on a piece of paper,
crumbled it up and threw it across the room. Someone else picked
up the paper and read it aloud. The person, who wrote it, then
stood up and was recognized for their awesome throwing skills!
Welcoming New Members: Aimee wanted to recognize
anyone who was new to the STAGE program and make them feel welcome
by letting them stand and bask in the glory that is being a newbie!
MOPAP/ 101 Tips: Lex informed everyone that
they should read the Tomball STAGE MOPAP and the 101 Tips to
Success. Not only are they informative and the rules but there
MAY or MAY NOT be a quiz over them at our next STAGE meeting.
Who knows?
Hamlet Auditions: Jared let everybody know about
our Hamlet Auditions! These auditions will be September 7th from
3:30-5:30 and September 8th from 3:00-5:00. If you are planning
to audition you will need to pick up an audition packet from
the Office.
Costume Crews: Jonathan Gonzales needs you!
Costume crews are starting up again and they need all the help
they can get. There will be sign-ups on the callboard if anyone
is interested.
Mentor Program: Katie told everyone about the
brand new Tomball STAGE Mentor Program or TSM. If you are a junior
or senior in any of the production classes you are eligible to
become one of the Tomball STAGE Mentors. If you are a freshman
in Tomball STAGE, then you are eligible TO BE mentored. If you
are interested in either of these positions, there are forms
under the callboard that will need to be turned into Katie by
our September STAGE meeting.
Script Library/ Pictures: Savannah informed
everyone about the Script Library and how it should be used.
If you wish to check out a script you need to sign it out in
the Sign-Out Binder. When you wish to return it you shall put
it in the return bin on the wall and congratulations you have
successfully checked-out a script! Did you attend The International
Thespian Festival with us this summer? If so, did you take pictures
while you were there? GREAT! Then you should put all of them
on either a CD or a flash drive and turn them into Savannah or
Jonathan Gonzales so they can put them in our slide show at banquet
this year! You have till the next STAGE meeting to get all of
your pictures in so HURRY!
Points/ Letter Jacket Policy: Jonathan Downey
explained why you should get points, how you can earn points,
how to keep track of your points, and what you earn with your
points. You can earn points from rehearsals, build crews, publicity
crews, ushering, performances, costume crews, light crews, and
much more. All you have to do is make sure that you are signing
in and out of crews. If you are doing something such as rehearsals
or performances, your stage manager will take your attendance
as your sign in and sign out.
Coat Drive: Bethany wants your coats! If you
have any old coats that you no longer fit into then you can donate
them to our coat drive and then they will go to a child who really
need it. We send all of our donated coats to Dunbar Middle School
and if any child needs a coat, he could possibly use yours. If
you do plan on donating a coat make sure that it is in good condition
and that there are no brand names on the coat. There will be
boxes in all of the director’s rooms to drop off your coats.
Forms: Ashley needs everyone to have their forms
in A.S.A.P.! The forms that you need to turn in are your Health
Release Form, your MOPAP Signature Form, and your Theatre Questionnaire
(freshman will need to turn in a Drug Testing Form). If you do
not have these forms in A.S.A.P. then you cannot participate
in build crews, rehearsals, and you will not be eligible for
any tech position or try-out in auditions. So make sure you get
those forms in! You can turn them into Ashley in 6th or 7th period
or you can leave them in her folder on her officer board.
T-Shirts: Jared is selling T-SHIRTS! If you
want our 2010-2011 Tomball STAGE t-shirt for this year then come
to the office before or after school with $12.00 and you can
have your very own Tomball STAGE t-shirt!
Convention: Katie told everyone about this year’s
Texas State Thespian Convention. If you are planning on going
to Convention, you will need to see Katie so you can get your
forms. It is roughly $350 if you are wishing to go and your first
payment will be due by our September STAGE meeting.
NYC Trip: Jonathan Downey informed everyone
about our summer trip this year to the big apple, NEW YORK CITY!
If you are interested in embarking on this trip this summer,
it is scheduled June 8th- June 19th. It will cost you $2150.00
if you are willing to go. If you are interested in this trip
please see Katie.

our first show this season, The Foreigner. If you are wishing
to get involved with this production, build crews will be coming
up soon! So keep your eyes open!
